This diagram show that overall of recycling rate for selected materials from 1982 to 2010. The figures for four various materials exhibit that it were recycled in a particular country.
It can be clearly seen the bar chart show that paper and cardboard are the highest percentage of other materials according to the recycling rate. On the other hand, plastics are the lowest percentage.
The recycling rate was a slightly different between plastics and aluminum cans from 1982 to 1990. The proportion of recycling plastics stood at a slightly less than 10% all over the whole period. The recycling of aluminum can rose steadily from 1990 to 2010. Throughout this period the recycling percentage peaked at almost 50%. The glass containers recycling rate steady at 50% in 1982. Afterwords the rate dipped from 1982 to 1990 and settle down at 40%
At the end of 1990 the rate increased to 50% again, after that the rate maintained high and steady raised till get 60% in 2010.
In contrast the recycling rate of paper and cardboard stayed higher than other materials. The rate was plateaued and never slumped under 60% all over the whole period. But the rate was fluctuated from 1982 to 1994. At the end of 1994 the rate peaked at the highest percentage 80%. Subsequently, the rate decrease tardily till reached 70% by the end of 2010.
We can see that overall the highest percentage of recycling rate material is paper and cardboard 80% in 1994, and the lowest percentage of recycling rate is plastics less than 5% in 1982.
