The given bar graph gives information about the spent money by five age groups of the British on three different categories in 2014. It can be seen that the spending on food and drink and entertainment were the most popular items by those over the age of 61.
To begin with the expense amount of food and drink, there was a marginal upward trend. It had almost quadrupled from the under-30 aged group to over 76, which means it has increased from just over 5% to 23%.
When it comes to the other two items, there were fluctuations. Expenses for restaurant and hotel by over 76 was almost half of under 30 which were just under 15% to about 7%, respectively. Moreover, although spending on entertainment was the most popular in 61-75 age group, only had the least share in 31-45 age group.
In overview, expenditures varied widely as age advanced. Older age groups spent more on food and drink and entertainment except people over the age of 76 spent less on entertainment.
