The reading and lecture are both about various news sources that is paper based and internet based. The author of the reading states that although electronic devices are more convenient it has deletorious impact on our health. The lecturer disagrees. He mentions those issues can be stemmed from reading paper as well and attacks each of the claim made in the article.
Firstly, the author begins by stating using electronic gadget hinders our critical thinking as most of the resources are from general people. So, this might not be the authentic one and evetually creates dillusion. The professor believes there are flaws in the writer’s position. He contends that we can obtain numerous content from internet however this is not the case while reading paperst. In addition, paper have very limited information included.
Secondly, according to the reading, electronic devices are detrimental to our health since focusing on the screen are suceptible to severe eye problem. Eventhough there are blue cut screen available it does not prevent rays from from the devices. The speaker on hand points out that it is not the fault of screen on weakening eye but the position of the screen. Besides, having regular break and good position of conputer may help them to shield themself from getting seroius problem of brain and eye.
Finally, the reading passage notes that gadget create addition to the people. To be more precise, it interupt the communication among the people if we are indulging on our devices for long. Passage also asserts that there has been a evidence of showing anxiety and lack of social skiils in the kids using electronic device instead of paper. The professor rebuts this argument. He mentions electronic devices has power to burgeon the critical thinking because it provide aid to varieties of news sources.
As we can see the author and the lecturer holds very conflicting views on advantages of electric gadget. The speaker effectively challenges the writer’s argument.
