Decreasing number of literature readers.
The author is concerned about the decreasing interest in reading literature and states certain disadvantages associated with it. The lecturer, on the other hand, opposes the claim made by the author.
First, the author suggests that only literature can stimulate the imagination, but the lecturer refutes this point and states that other subjects can also stimulate the imagination. On top of that, she adds that a book need not be only about literature; people do read books on various other subjects that can also provoke their imaginations.
Second, the reading mentions that people are increasingly involved in either reading low-standard books or watching movies or listening to music, thereby lowering the cultural level. On the other hand, the speaker points out that listening to music or movies doesn't lower the culture level; instead, it is a different form of expression of culture.

But this argument is challenged by the lecturer, who states that sometimes authors themselves are at fault, as they use complex modern language, making it difficult for readers to understand it.
