The map below shows the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development
The given map illustrates some changes to Islip town centre at present and how it will be developed in the future.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the town will experience some considerable development during the period shown. There will have noticeable differences between the two maps, mostly regarding the enhancement of facilities as well as the modernization of traffic roads.
As can be seen from the plan, Islip town which is in the middle of the map will be surrounded by a dual carriageway. Over the period, a bus station, a shopping centre, a car park and a new residential area will be erected on the original site of the countryside and the shops in front of it. In terms of traffic issues, the main road will be converted only for pedestrians after several years, but the shops on the east of the avenue will stay unchanged.
Turning to the other features, the park in the bottom right-hand corner of the carriageway will be shrunk in half to make way for enlarging accommodations, while the school to the left-hand side of the map will be widened in the near future.
