The maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and in 2010.
The maps illustrate the major changes which were made to the transport infrastructure of a city hospital over a three-year period between 2007 and 2010.
Overall, it is apparent that three modifications were added to the city hospital’s vehicle access. They were the introduction of a bus station and two roundabouts and the expansion of the car park.
One interesting change is that there used to be 3 bus stops on either side of Hospital Road. However, in 2010, they were removed to make way for a new bus station on the west of Hospital Road. It can be accessed via the side roads of both new roundabouts. One was situated at the junction of the City and Hospital Roads while the other was constructed at the other end of Hospital Road, also connected by the Ring Road.
If we look at the car park, in 2007, it was located to the southeast of the hospital which was accessed via the Ring Road and used by both staff and public members. In three years' time, a new public car park had been built on the east of the hospital whereas the old one turned out to be allowed only for hospital staff.
