From the year 2000 to the year 2016, this sector increased from above £8 billion to approximately £9 billion. By the year 2025, it is expected to increase to below £10 billion. As for the dairy products, the total exports were worth around £7 billion in 2000. From 2000 to 2016, there was a dramatic rise in which the total exports reached around £10 billion. A slight drop is expected for dairy products in 2025 and the figure would be £9.5 billion. The other products exported by Southland were the meat products. These products showed a gradually declining trend throughout the years. In 2000, the total exports of meat products were at the point of £6 billion. In 2016, the exports dropped to £5.5 billion and are expected to reach the dip of £5 billion by the year 2025.
In overall, the trends of three different exports of Southland varied considerably. In 2025, the export of international tourism is expected to raise while the exports of dairy and meat products are expected to drop slightly.
