The bar chart and the line graph compare the number of Japanese oversea-travelling tourists and the percentage of Japanese tourist coming to Australia in the decade from 1985 to 1995. Overall, Japanese travelers gained the greatest number among the decade in 1995.
It is can be clearly seen that in the first year, there were over 4 million Japanese tourist visited foreign nations and only 2% in which came to Australia. The next 4 years, the number of Japanese travelers coming abroad jumped dramatically to just over 8 million as well as ones coming to Australia rose over twice as many as before in 1988. In 1989, the Japanese tourists’ number continued rising to nearly 10 million. Nevertheless, the amount of ones who travelled to Australia decreased moderately and peaked at about 4%.
In the coming year, there were about 11 million Japanese tourists travelling abroad while the proportion of Australia-travelled tourists remained steady comparing to 1988. Regarding to Japanese travelers, the number fluctuated at around 11 million in 3 years and stood at nearly 16 million in the last year. As for Australia’s share of Japanese’s tourist market, it rocked rapidly from under 5% to over 6% but decreased slightly to 6% in 1994. However, there was no data in 1995.
In the nutshell, the amount of Japanese tourist travelling to Australia achieved the highest percentage in 1993.
