A friend from abroad is visiting your country next month. She is planning to stay with you but you can’t do so.
• Tell her the reasons for that
• Apologize to her
• Make alternative arrangements
Dear John,
I'm so glad to hear you're visiting my country in a few weeks time. As you will see, Nigeria is a good place to spend your vacation. There are many nice sites to visit and several activities that will keep you busy through out your stay.
In your letter, you mentioned that you'd like to stay at my place during the holiday, however, I'm so sorry, you may not be able to do so. My house is a three bedroom apartment and I have two families already in my place. Each family occupies one room, while my wife, our daughter and I are staying in the remaining room, leaving no space for you.
I'm so sorry for this, and have planned to make it up to you.
As an alternative, I intend to lodge you in a hotel very close to my house. It's about three minutes walk from my home, which is as good as staying at my apartment. We still, will be able to go out and share most of the time together.
Please let me know what you think of this plan as soon as possible.
All the best,
Alfred.
