Overall, the number of car travelers and train travelers increased and which are expected to continue with its usage, whereas the bus is experienced a declining trend. It is noticeable that, the car will be the main form of daily commuting transportation.
The number of passengers witnessed a substantial increase from about 5 million to 7 million for car users, whereas for the train passengers increased constantly from 2 million to 3 million between 1970 and 2000. This number of passengers remained unchanged for a decade till 2010. Meanwhile, the bus passengers decreased steadily from around 4 million passengers in 1970 to 3.2 million passengers by 2000.
From 2010 to 2030, the number of passengers using cars and trains increased remarkably to reach at 9 million and 4 million passengers, respectively. In contrast, there was a plummet in the number of British people used a bus as a daily commute to end at 3 million people by 2030.
