The table illustrates the estimated oil production capacity of 6 countries between 1990 and 2010, measured by millions of barrels each day.
Overall, oil production capacity tended to increase during this 20-year period. The figures of Saudi Arabia was highest than other countries, whereas the production of Qatar is lowest.
According to the table, the data of Saudi Arabia significantly grew from 1990 to 2010. In 1990, the oil production was just above 8 million barrels then increased steadily and reached a peak at more than 14 million barrels in 2010. In contrast, the figures of Qatar fluctuated over the period of 20 years. Despite a slight increase in 2000, production in Qatar remained relatively stable at less than 1 million barrels per day.
The other countries rose slowly over the period of 20 years. The estimated figure for Iran in 1990 was approximately 3 million barrels per day, compared with around 2 million of other countries. The oil production of Iran, Iraq and Kuwait went up slightly from 1990 to 2000, whereas the data in UAE remained stable in the same period. In 2010, the amount of oil produced peaked in Iran at over the 4 million barrels and at almost 4 million barrels in Iraq, Kuwait and the UAE.
