1. The graph below shows the percentage of workers in 5 different European countries with a day or more illness absence from 1991 to 2001. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given graph illustrates the fraction of absence of employees in the countries Netherlands, Sweden, France, Italy and Germany over the period from 1991 to 2001.
Overall, Countries Netherlands and Sweden marked the highest absence of the workers; however, as per illustration, France and Italy had the median absence. In contrast, Germany had the least absence of employees over decade.
In the beginning, between 1991 and 1997, the absence of employees in Netherlands and Sweden dipped to approximately half and found to be 32 and 20 percent respectively. Though, no big changes were noticed in the percentage of France, Italy and Germany over the period and resulted 25, 20 and 12 percent respectively.
For the years from 1998 to 2001, the absence of employees rose in Netherlands and Sweden again where it touched the same level (48 percent) for Netherlands as was in 1991 and in Sweden it crossed the level and went out 45%. Moreover that France, Italy and Germany did not experience any big change and was immune at 25, 20 and 12 percent levels respectively.
Over the span, there was no considerable change marked as per the figure.
