Overall, except for Asia with the most destructive factor being tree-cutting, other regions’ land are being damaged mainly due to breeding. Moreover, land deterioration in Africa and Asia is more severe than in Australia and Europe.

It is evident that a more tremendous square surface of land in Africa and Asia is being destructed with breeding and tree-cutting are the main causes respectively, damaging around 500 million hectares of land in Africa and approximately 450 million hectares in Asia. In addition, an other culprit harmful to Asian land, resulting in damages that are in close parity to those caused by tree-cutting is farming.

Meanwhile, the situation is less serious in Australia and Europe. The main root of land deterioration witnessed in both nations is breeding which destructed around 250 million hectares of land in the former region, doubling the damages in the latter area. The other causes harmed only under 100 million hectares each in these two areas.
