The bar chart illustrates the proportion of two types of student who achieved second class degrees or better in the UK at an institution in 2009.
Overall, the number of college students fluctuated throughout the seven subjects. It is clear that UK students were higher in almost subjects while overseas students gained degrees at a low figure, except Electrical engineering and Information Technology.
The proportion of both types of student who graduated with second class degrees or better were similar in Nursing and Accountancy with nearly third quarters and 60% respectively. likewise, Art History and Sociology attained 80%. Local students of the United Kingdom were a higher percentage of gaining degrees in Society-related subjects. English Literature had about 75%, International Law also achieved over a half.
In contrast, overseas students were the highest proportion of the whole chart with nearly 90% in Information Technology compare with UK students, under 60%. The figure for students gained degrees or higher with 80% of international students than almost 60% of British students.
