The bar chart provides data on the percentage of small, medium, and large corporations which used social media for business purposes in 5 consecutive years from 2012 to 2016.
Overall, all three types of business witnessed an upward trend over the examined period and saw a significant downfall in 2015. A prominent feature is that large business possessed the highest percentage of social media presence.
In the first 3 years, the upsurge of medium companies using social media was the most significant among the three types of business, from just above three out of ten to nearly a half. Meanwhile, the percentage of small business possessing social media presence increased gradually by 10 % from approximately a quarter, and the proportion of large corporations with social media remained relatively stable at about 78%.
In 2015, small, medium, and large business hit the bottom with 30%, 30%, and roughly 52% of social media presence respectively. All figures then leveled up dramatically and reached a peak of a half, about 52%, and nearly four-fifths.
