The provided bar chart compares the percentage of average household expenditure in weekly basis in 1968 and in 2018.

Overall, the household in 1968 paid a large amount of their income for food, but, after five decades, their expenditures for leisure was the highest. While the percentage of budget for household goods was stable during that period.

To be specific, the household income per a week was paid for food up to 35% in 1968, while this figure was declined a half, at about 17% in 2018. The expenditures for fuel and power, clothing and footwear and personal good in 1968 was respectively 5%, 10%, and 8%. After five decades, the spending for fuel and power was witnessed a slightly decrease at 4%. The clothing and footwear, and personal goods dropped by a half in 2018.

In the constrast, the expenditures for housing increase remarkably from 10% to around 18% in 2018. Additional, the percentage of spending for transport was rise by over 10% during 50 years. The spending for leisure was experienced an upward trend, which increased three-fold at 22% from 1968 to 2018. However, the spending for household goods was stable at around 8% during 5 decades.
