The chart below show household spending patterns in two countries between 1980 and 2008.

The four pie charts illustrate the expenditures which useful in day to day living in the United Kingdom and New Zealand in 1980 and 2008. Qs

Overall, it can be manifested that it is clear that the percentage of expenditure on food and drink dropped significantly in both countries over the period shown whereas expenditure on utility bills increased.

First of all, in 1980, 29% percentage of New Zealand household budget went on food and drinks, why the equivalent figure for the UK was 23 percentage. By contrast, both countries experienced a slight rise in expenditure on utility bills for the average home, from 27 % to 31 % New Zealand and from 26 % to 28 percentage in the UK.

Moreover, in both years, the expenditure on leisures remained higher for the UK as against New Zealand. The transportation cost decreased by only 1% for both countries from 1980 to 2008. Where is the other expenditure equally increased in UK and Newzealand at 9% to 11% respectively.
