The bar chart compares the amount of free time spent by two sexes in terms of employment status between 1998 and 1999. It is evident that the unemployed and retired spent more time for leisure activities than the remaining three groups. Besides, the hours of leisure time enjoyed by males are higher than that of females with a notable exception of the employed full time and housewives.
Males who were unemployed and retired spent roughly 85 hours on leisure activities, which are twice as much as that of males working full time. In contrast, no figure was recorded for males in employed-part-time and housewives group.
From 1998 to 1999, nearly 76 hours of leisure time went on females in unemployment and retirement. Additionally, approximately 40 hours were recorded in the group of women working full time. The employed part time and housewives witnessed a domination of women in hours of leisure time with 40 and 43 hours respectively.
