The bar chart shows the percentage of adults by distinct age group using the Internet from 2003 to 2006.
It is notorious that people from 16 – 54 used the Internet significantly more than the elderly ones. We can also see that from 2005 adults generally used the Internet much more frequent than previous years.
The youth adults group had the most time using the Internet of all. In 2003 and 2004 there were already 80% of them who used the Internet. The figure peaked at 2005 with surprisingly all the youth joined the online world. Youth users dropped to 85% the next year but still remained a remarkable proportion.
The 25 – 44 and 45 – 54 groups witnessed a gradual increase in the 2003 – 2006 period, with roughly 45% and 60% people using the Internet in 2003, respectively. Both groups eventually peaked at 2006 with the same amount of 80%. The other two older groups however, saw a small drop in the year 2005 before reached the top in the next year. Specifically, 45% adults who age between 55 – 64 used the Internet in 2006 ,whereas the oldest group, which also had the least Internet users, saw exactly one fifth of them using the Internet in that same year.
