The chart below shows the percentage of people of different age groups who went to cinema once a month or more in one European country from 2000 to 2011.
The line chart compares the information about people of different age groups in a European nation watching a movie in the cinema once a month or more between 2000 and 2011.
It is clear that people aged 15-24 went to the cinema by far the most during the period shown. In addition, the percentage of citizens in all age groups choosing to go to the cinema for entertainment increased gradually over an 11-year period.
In 2000, individuals aged 15-24 who went to the cinema once a month or more accounted for just over 15%, while the figure for people in the 7-14 age group was slightly lower, at exactly 10%. Meanwhile, around 4% of citizens who are 25 to 35 years old travelled to the cinema at least once a month, compared to only approximately 2% of 35-and-over-year-old citizens.
Eleven years later, the proportion of 15-24-year-old individuals going to the cinema increased dramatically to just over 50%, despite a fluctuation in between. At the same time, the figures for people who were 7-14 and 25-35 rose gradually, and stayed at the same proportion in 2011, at 30% each. Additionally, the percentage of people in the 35 and older age group who chose to entertain in the cinema went up slightly to roughly 12% in 2011.
