The chart shows the percentage of Australian men and women doing regular physical activity in 2010
The bar chart compares differences in the rate of how physically active men and women in Australia in six age groups are in the year of 2010. Overall, it can be seen that women in middle-aged were by far the most regular exercise while men aged did the least physical activity.
Among all categories, only the proportion of 15-to 24-year-old males was higher than that of females in the same age group, 52.8% compared with 47.7%. Meanwhile, the only identical rate of Australian males and females who were physically active occurred in the category of people aged 65 or over, about 47% in the year surveyed.
We can see the opposite pattern in the remaining categories, which is the woman in these age groups did more exercise than their counterparts. To be exact, the most difference between both genders went to people between 35 and 44 years old, 52.5% oppose to 39.5%. Meanwhile, the percentage of females in the ages of 45-54 and the ages of 55-64 accounted for the highest, 53%, while that of males was 43.1% and 45.1% respectively. The corresponding figure for those aged 25 to 34 was slightly lower, 48.9% and 42.2% in the year shown.
