The percentage in purchasing online books in the United Kingdom is shown in the graphs below.

Overall, the graph chart illustrates UK population who was interested in getting books online as there was a significant growth in their proportion because large amount of money were spent, whilst the pie chart displays that there was an upward trend in purchasing online books in England.

It is clear that people who spent money over online shopping for books outnumbered the figure of those who bought from bookshops. There was an abrupt rise in the UK population by a fifth in 1998. There was a marginal rise between 1999 and the early 2000s as the figure for those who have spent money to enjoy reading online books had a modest increase. Then, this proportion flattened from the early 2000s to 2002.

The pie chart represents an upward trend as England population tended to purchase online reading materials more than any other country. There was a significant minority in those who had ignored buying these books as shown in Northern Ireland. Both Wales and Scotland showed minimum interest by less than one in ten in buying online books.
