The line graphs below illustrate the changes that took place in the figure for possession of technical devices and housework time spent in households in a nation from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, there was an increase in the proportion of households with electrical tools, while the opposite trend could be seen in the number of hours spent doing chores during the period from 1920 to 2019.
It can be seen from the chart that in 1920, the lowest percentage was refrigerator, while washing machine and vacuum cleaner were higher, accounting for 30 and 40 percent respectively. Those figures continued to raise and in 1960, the proportion of households with refrigerator surpassed that of the two factors left, with a subsequence increase to 100% in 1980 and remained unchanged onwards. Similarly, in the same years examined, washing machine and vacuum cleaner witnessed a rise in percentage, but to a lesser extent.
As can be seen, vacuum cleaner and refrigerator experienced the same data in 1960, at 70%, and then vacuum cleaner grew to 100%. Meanwhile, washing machine fell slightly to the north of 60%, which is followed by a steady growth to upward of 70%. Similar changes can be seen in the amount of time spent on housework, which started at 50%in 1920, after which it saw a significant decrease to only 20% in 1960 before declining to 10% in the last year of the period.
