The given charts illustrate the level of participation in schooling, scientists and technicians and in research and development spending in developing and developed nations from 1980 to 1990.

Overall, the figures for both developed and developing countries increased significantly in schooling and scientists. And the figures for developed countries in research and development spending higher than those developing countries.

According to the first chart, in 1980, people in developing nations spent about three years in school and the figures went up for more than one year ten years later. While in the developed countries, the average years of schooling of citizens here seemed higher than in people in developing nations, from 8.5 years to 11 years.

Turning to the second chart, the level of participants in science in developing countries saw a slight rise from 10 to 18 people over the period of 10 years. Conversely, the number of scientists in developed countries considerably jumped from 41 people to nearly 70 people in 1980 and 1990.

When it comes to the final chart, the citizen in developed nations had a trend that they spent more money on research and development, which were 150 billion dollars in 1980 and rose up approximately 350 billion dollars in 1990. Developing countries, in contrast, suffered a slight fall in spending on research and development from 50 billion dollars to 20 billion dollars in 1980 and 1990 respectively.
