The charts below show what UK graduate and postgraduate students who did not go into full-time work did after leaving college in 2008.

The data given in two bar charts depict what UK graduate and postgraduate students did after leaving university in the year 2008.

Overall, the number of graduates in the first chart was far higher than that of postgraduates in the second one. Further study was the most common choice taken by both of them while a few students volunteer for charity work.

On the first graph, there were 17735 graduates spending their time on temporary job. Similarly, students who were not in the work force were 16235. The number of students seeking for further study was double the quantity of unemployed students, at 29665. Voluntary work was the least popular choice, only 3500 students chose this destination.

On the second graph, further study also had the highest number, at 2725. In the second place was part-time work which was slightly lower than further study’s number, at 2535. The figure for unemployment was 1625 that was more five-fold the number of voluntary work.
