The three pie charts illustrate the proportion of five different social media platforms that people used from 2011 to 2013.
In general, the use of Facebook began to decline in 2011 and continued on this downward turn over the three years; however, Facebook always ranks first place. In addition, the four others witnessed an upward trend.
In the year 2011, Facebook stood at 59% which was the highest rate. Moreover, it is also three times as high as the figure for Twitter which was 21%. At the same time, the proportion of Google+ and Pinterest was identical stood at 5% and exactly a half of that of LinkedIn.
In the year following, meanwhile the rate of Facebook experienced a noticeable decrease by 10%, the others include Pinterest and LinkedIn and Twitter improved slightly about 1% to 2%. Especially Google+ rose dramatically which is double as high as the figure in 2011.
After two years since 2011, even though Facebook was at the highest level, it still underwent a remarkable fall to 38%. Besides, all of the others seemed to rose significantly when comparing the figures of 2013 with 2011; however, in three years, the proportion of Pinterest was the lowest rate.
