the charts showe the percentage of male and female students getting top graded in 1960 and 2000.
The two bar charts prove how many students in two genders got high scores in five different subjects in the year 1996 and 2002. The number of students gained high score in science and maths both showed a downward trend while one for Arts and Humanities were opposite and one for language kept stable. By contrast, the figure for female chart presented a completely different trend.
It can be seen from the male chart that the percentage for Science and Maths decreased from 34% and 30% to 18% and 17% respectively from 1996 to 2000. At the same time, students study at Humanities achieved a huge progress, which was almost doubled and ended up with around 44%, far more than the other cohorts. The number of Arts also increased and reached the highest point(22%) which was the same with Humanities’s number in 1996. However, the data for language kept stable.
When it comes to the female chart, the students majored at Science made little progress which mainly reached 11% in 2000. Moreover, the figure for Maths increased to 15% in 2000 which was triple-time for one in 1996. Conversely, one for language suffered an almost triple times fell in 2000 which fell to 30%. The percentage for Arts and Humanities from 30% and 34% both declined to 25% in 2000.
