Computers are now the basis of the modern world. They should therefore be introduced into classrooms, and their programs used for direct teaching purposes. However, dependence on computers in teaching may carry a certain degree of risk to students.
Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
The computer is now a necessary technological device in today's world. Although there is a belief that this tool should be employed in teaching activities in schools, people also think that being dependent on this device in classes may risk the students at a certain level. This essay will address both of the arguments and provide an opinion as a conclusion.
On the one hand, having computers in the classroom as teaching tools is beneficial for both teachers and students because, in the teaching process, computers may help the children in comprehending the topic wholly. Teaching about human brain activities, for instance, is much easier if the teachers are using videos to show the students how the brain works. These videos provide better explanations because they can visualize the process using moving pictures. Thus, it may increase students understanding of the topic.
On the other hand, people also consider that involving computers in the teaching process may harm the students. This can be explained because fully involving computers as teaching assistance might make the children unable to learn another important aspect such as the real interaction between teachers and students in classrooms. This leads to the students losing their respect for human teachers in the future, and that will affect the attitude of future generations. Finally, this behavioral trait may cause problems to societies because people value the teacher very much.
To sum up, although the idea of using computers as teaching assistants in the classes may help the students in understanding the subject thoroughly, and the teachers are doing their job much easier, these devices also pose serious consequences such as damaging students and teachers' relationship in the future.
