The diagram below shows the changes, which took place in a coastal area called Pentland
The two pictures compare the layouts of a coastal area in two years, namely 1950 and 2007. It is clear that there are noticeable changes in the layout of this area over the period shown. The main modification included the removal of industrial area as well as grassland, and the addition of many modern buildings.
Looking at the changes in more detail, we can see that in 1950 there was. an industrial area in the top left corner of the map, on the left side of a road running from south to north. 57 years later, the industrial area was also removed to make way for a park as well as a swimming pool. In addition, the car park in the east was moved to the south of the swimming pool and rebuilt into a multi-storey car park.
The two maps also show that many apartments were constructed in the top right corner, and the grassland in southeast corner was removed, creating space for houses, shops, and two streets. Furthermore, this grassland was cleared to erect a new cinema in the bottom left corner. Finally, a small road was built with many shops along the road and A Yatch maria was also added on the sea in the north of the map
