The diagram below shows how solar panels can be used to provide electricity for domestic use.
Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Solar panels are an exceptional way of using the sunlight to generate electrial power. Its use is becoming increasingly more popular nowadays, as it is a green source of energy and relatively simple to install.
There are five main features that are used to transform the energy that cames from the sun into eletric power. The later is the only kind of energy that allows household appliances to function. The first one is the solar panels which are usualy placed on the roof of houses where there is direct exposure to the sunlight. The panels will capture the sunlight and transform it into DC current. Then, the inverter, as the name suggests, will invert DC current to AC and also serves as electricity and production controler. Thirdly, the electrical panel, located in the wall, will spread the power to the house.
A very intresting fact in the solar energy system is that there is no waste of energy. If the solar panels capture more energy than you eventully used, the extra will go to the grid through the utility meter. The grid, located outside the house, will then release the stored energy whenever your needs exceed the amount of energy produced by the solar panels.
