Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons
where relevant

The diagram illustrates the steps and machines required for producing matches. Wood from tree logs undergoes various steps where it is chopped and treated with chemicals and then dried before packaging.

Firstly, the tree log is passed through an equipment called peeler where it is cut with a blade into thin strip called veneer. It is then passed through a chopper. Here, veneer produced from previous step is chopped into sticks of equal length. These sticks are soaked in ammonium phosphate tank which are then dried on a dryer.

After this, the sticks are sent into a hopper attached to a blower. From here, they move to a rectangular storage area through a metal duct. The matches are then passed into an inserter which aligns them and inserts them into a perforated steel belt. On the belt, the matches pass through paraffin wax tank, based chemicals tank and tip chemicals tank one after the other and then dried in the drying area. Finally, the matches are sent to the packaging area to be packed into boxes.
