Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagram illustrates important parts of neuron and its function.

Overall, there are five different components in a neuron which ensure its efficient working. The main constitute of neuron is cell body which is located in centrally in between denrites. Dendrites are the limbs of neuron which branch out around the cell body and their job is to receive messages from other neurons. Axon is a tube like structure which transfers the messages from cell body to various neurons, muscles or glands. The electric signal travelling down axon results in action of muscles or other body parts as a reaction to these electric signals.

Furthermore, myellin sheath is another major component which enhances the neural impulses. It cover the axon of certain neurons which helps speeding up the neural impulses. The last element of neuron is terminal buttons which has branches and connects a particular neuron to other cells.

In conclusion, the neuron is composed of five different parts which are essential for transfer of impulses so that our body could react to various situations.
