The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graphs show the way in which cement is made, then how it is utilised in the process of concrete-making for construction.

Overall, there are five main steps in the process of cement manufacture, beginning with the input of raw materials and ending with packaging of new cement, while that of producing concrete involves only one stage in which different materials are mixed.

It can be seen from the first diagram that the phases and apparatus to make cement commences with putting limestone and clay together in the crusher to form powder. Before being ground, this powder is heated at the end of the tube when passing into the rotating heater after being removed in a mixer. Subsequently, the cement is produced from the ground through a grinder. The final product is afterwards packed in large bags ready to be used to make concrete.

Regarding the second diagram, the concrete-producing process consists mainly of gravel, at 50%. Followed by 25% of sand, 10% of water and 15% of cement. All these ingredients are poured into a concrete mixer which continually rotates to combine them and ultimately produce concrete.
