Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using facebook as a means of online instruction. You may compare with other tools like zoom etc.

Since the coronavirus disease outbreaks , schools are forced to close to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, and students have to study online instead of being in classroom. That is reason why we need to find a tool to help learning online. One of the effective tools that can be used as a method of learning online is Facebook. Nevertheless, it also brings some positive as well as negative aspects during use.

Firstly, facebook is a convenient tool and easy to use. Because almost students use Facebook in their daily life, then they could both entertain and study at the same time on this app. Facebook also offers them with a comfortable learning space, so they can take the class anytime on any day. Besides, learning materials are sent quickly to them .They just need to read them and complete the assignments and hand out for their teacher. Moreover, they have more chances to interact with each other by some ways as joining in the chat room or giving comments on posts. Facebook can create groups for classes where they can ask questions, and teachers can answer rapidly. In addition, it is so easy to share materials on facebook, therefore, this is a perfect tool to share educational content. For instance, teachers can share videos and articles about their lectures from reliable news sources for them.

These are just a few of many advantages of using facebook in education, but there are also some disadvantages. Facebook is different from other online learning tools like zoom, hangout, etc. Students can only learn through exercises posted on facebook. Students can not exchange directly with each other through video chat like other apps. Besides, students requires a lot of self-discipline. If they do not have self-discipline, it is very unlikely that they will be motivated to complete their task. There is no one around to tell them to sit and get start with their studies.

During the pandemic period, all students have to stay at home, so finding a study online tool can help a lot for students. Therefore, we can use Facebook as a means of online instruction. Although it also has some advantages and limitations, Facebook can certainly become an incredibly useful tool in the online study for students.
