The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children's sports between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in Britain over the same time period.
The two charts reveal data about British parents’ expenditure on their offsprings’ sports and the number of participants in three kinds of activities in the same country from 2008 to 2014.
Overall, what can be easily seen is that the spending of adults experienced an upward trend during the period. The number of school-age children taking part in the 3 kinds of sport grew, although by varying degrees, and football attracted the most children.
According to the upper chart, the money which was spent monthly by parents on average rose steadily. In 2008, every month adults paid 20 pounds for their youngsters’ participation. However, this number reached 33 pounds in the next 6 years.
Football and swimming increased consistently between the two years. Despite insignificant vibration, soccer’s number increased from about 8 million to 9 million, while the other started at 2 million and ended up at 4 million. On the other hand, athletics kept its statistics around 1 million in the first 2 years, before rocketing to 5 million in 2012. The youth then began to lose interest in this kind of sport, and the number went down to 4.5 millions at the end of 2014.
