The statistical line chart illustrates how much waste being discharged by three different firms in 5-year intervals starting from 2000, measured in tones.
Overall, company a and b produced the most contaminants in the beginning and tended to fall over the 15-year period while company c saw waste output increased considerably.
As indicated in the chart, in 2000, company a produced 12 tonnes of waste while the other two firms produced about 8 tonnes and 4 tonnes of waste accordingly. In the next five years, the waste discharged by company b and c rose by around 2 tonnes whereas that of company a decreased by roughly 1 tonne.
Another considerable feature is the period from 2005 to 2015, company a cut waste production by nearly 4 tonnes and company b reduced its waste by around 7 tonnes. Conversely, company c witnessed an increase in waste production to over 9 tonnes while the amounts of waste from company a and b dropped significantly to approximately 8 tonnes and 3 tonnes accordingly.
