The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line chart illustrates the amount of fish and three various kinds of meats which were consumed in a particular country of Europe over a period of 25 years starting from 1979.

Overall, it is clear that while the consumption of chicken increased, the opposite was true for three others. it is also notable that the lowest figure was seen in fish for most of the period.

As can be seen from the chart, there were about 150 grams of chicken consumed in 1979. Since then, the figure for chicken climbed until it overtook that of lamb and beef consumption in 1984 to become the most popular food. During the next period, the consumption of chicken witnessed a gradual rise before made up exactly 250 grams in the final year.

Looking at the graph in more detail, beef consumption began at a bit higher than 200 grams in 1979, over about 70 grams than the figure for lamb and three times as much as that of fish. In the following timespan, some declines were experienced in the consumption of three food. To be specific, the last figures were 100 and 60 and about 50 grams for beef, lamb and fish respectively.
