The line graphs below shows data about the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
Overall, fish was the least commonly used food in the European country throughout the period show. The consumption of chicken rose dramatically, whereas that of beef, lamb and fish decreased.
In the year 1979, beef which was consumed was about 220 grams per person per week. The figured for chicken and lamb were lower, at about 140 grams and 150 grams respectively. The figure for fish was lowest, at about 60 grams.
The period from 1979 to 2004 saw a dramatic increase in the consumption of chicken approximately 250 grams. By contrast, about 60 grams of lamb was consumed, compared to 40 grams of fish in 2004. In the year 2004, the consumption of beef reach the highest point, at 230 grams, however, this fell quickly by 110 grams.
