The line graph illustrates the Tourist Information Office in one city is received the number of inquiries in person, and by letter/email and by telephone over the period of six months from January to June in 2011.
Overall, the number of inquiries in person and by telephone saw an upward trend, while the figures for inquiries by letter/email fell significantly over the given period. Besides, the Office is gotten the best of inquiry by directing to customers.
Looking at the information in more details, we can see that inquiries in person and by telephone initiated at around 500 and 900 respectively. However, the figures for inquiries in person witnessed a striking increase, reaching the peak of nearly 2000 inquiries in the sixth month, compared with a modest rise in inquiries by telephone, which was at the highest starting point, going up to only 1600 inquiries in the last month.
In contrast, the number of inquiries by letter/email, though stood at the second place at first, then reached a plateau and showed a gradual downturn from March onward before ending almost at the bottom of under 400 inquiries, which numbers were even lower than that for inquiries in person in the beginning.
