The graph below shows the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city over a six-month period in 2011.
The line graph illustrates how many enquiries sent to the Tourist Information Office in a particular city over a period of six months in 2011. The data are classified into three categories: in person, by letter or email, and by telephone.
Overall, the number of inquiries sent in person and by telephone increased dramatically, while that sent using letters and emails decreased significantly over the mentioned period.
To begin with, in January, enquiries received in person was the least at just over 400, after which they started to increase steadily over the six-month period to reach the maximum of all enquiries delivered in June at approximately 1900. Similarly, enquiries sent by telephone showed an overall upward trend although there was a slight dip from about 900 in June to 800 in February, in addition to a steady trend in both March and May, when the number of enquiries was 1000. Even though the enquiries received by telephone were the highest at the beginning of the period, it has ended up to be the second by June at exactly 1600.
Turning to letters and emails, it is clear that they were the second most popular methods utilized to send enquiries at about 750 in the first three months; however, their usage declined over the mentioned period to reach the minimum number in May and June at just under 400.
