Overall, although these data sources markedly communicate that goods shipped by those modes witnessed numerous fluctuations, the quantities of goods transported by all forms of delivery increased with the exception belonging to railway, which almost remained the same.
To begin with, the most stocks being conveyed by road started at approximately 70 tonnes in 1974, after which it experienced a growth to nearly 80 tonnes in 1994 before ending the period at roughly 95 tonnes in 2002. A similar trend can be observed in the movement of water, when it immediately rose from 40 tonnes to roughly 55 tonnes from 1974 to 1982. After that, it remained stable in the next 16 years before reaching 63 tonnes.
Hitting a high of nearly 5 in 1974, with a subsequent increase, pipeline services over 20 million tonnes of goods eventually. Turning to the railway aspect, initially fell from a high of 40 tonnes to hit a trough at 30 in 1994, it increased again and recovered to the initial point.
