It is clear that the figure for all four countries was seen as the gradual increase. A notable fact is that although there was a little fluctuation, German was the country splashing out on books the most.
To embark on, standing at a high point in 1995 at 80%, this country continued a stable climb with slight acceleration until 1999 to 90%, and then it received a slight lull. Followed by a growth pattern that was more varied, the percentage of money spent on books in Germany experienced a slight recovery to nearly 100%. Meanwhile, the figure for the expenditure in France also gradually increased by 17% to 75% in ten year’s time.
Likewise, 50% consumer spending on books in 1995 in Italy and it was subject to overall volatility after four years. Finally, the percentage of expenditure on this category in Italy jumped further to 61% in 2005. At the same time, there was a mere minority of spending on this item in Austria in 1995, at 30%, however, the figure for Austria abruptly surge over 70% and was higher than in Italy.
