The graphs below show the types of music albums purchased by people in Britain according to sex and age.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The charts give information on the proportion of individuals from different age ranges and genders in Britain buying three types of music albums, including pop, rock and classical music.
Overall, there are more male album purchasers than females in all three types. While people aged 16 to 44 prefer to buy rock and pop albums, these albums are the least purchased types by the older generation (45+). Instead, music listeners above 45 years old would mostly buy classical music albums. Classical music albums also attract young music enjoyers ( 25-34 years old) as well, but the proportion of teenagers buying them is the lowest among the three music album types.
In terms of genders, there are obviously more men buying albums than women in every category, but both genders mostly buy rock music albums. Considering pop music, men account for nearly 30% of all buyers whereas the ratio of women is just 20%. There is also a similar gap between male and female purchasers in the category of rock music, where men’s percentage is nearly 10% higher than that of women. Classical music albums attract the least buyers from two genders, respectively nearly 10% for males and just above 5% for females.
Pop and rock music albums suit various ages ranging from teenagers (30%) to the 25-34 age group ( over 30%) and 35-44 years old listeners (nearly 30%), except for middle-aged music enjoyers with just approximately 10%. Middle-aged music listeners make up 20% of people who buy classical albums, but the proportion of teenagers purchasing classical music cannot reach 5%. A similar pattern can also be seen in the 35-44 age group, where just under 5% of them buy classical-related albums. However, classical music albums still gain 15% of 25-34 years old buyers.
