The line graph demonstrates differences in the proportion of births between China and the USA during the period from 1920 to 2000 .
It is clear that the statistics of both countries recorded a dramatic fluctuation throughout the research period. In addition, birth standards of America were almost higher than that of China.
In China, the fertility rate reached 10 percent in 1920 and 15 percent in 1935. However, the percentage of births plunged to 5% between 1935 and 1940,which was followed by a stability for the next five years. After that, it peaked at 20 percent around 1950. China’s statistics declined sharply by under 5 percent at the end of the period.
In the USA, meanwhile, the birth rates experienced a moderate fluctuation over 10% from 1020 to 1940. After some oscillations,the figure for the USA rate hit the lowest point in 1945,but later went up sharply by 25% in 1950. Subsequently, it fell dramatically to approximately 7% in 2000.
