The line graph below shows the percentage of tourists to Scotland who visited four
different attractions.
The line graph reveals statistics about the proportion of travelers visiting an aquarium, zoo, castle, and festival of Scotland in a 30-year period.
Looking from an overall perspective, the fraction of tourists who went to festival and aquarium decreased, while these figures for other two categories saw an upward trajectory. Moreover, the castle appeared to be the most appealing place to come in most years.
Festival and zoo had the highest and lowest proportions at the beginning of the whole period but showed reverse trends afterward. In 1980, exactly 30% of tourists went to the festival; however, it declined steadily to around 18% after 3 decades. The figure for the zoo, despite some fluctuations, went up to over 20% in the final year.
Castle and aquarium came in the second and third in 1980 with 23% and 20%, respectively. After experiencing a spike and peaking at 35% in 1985, the percentage of people going to aquarium oscillated and fell sharply to under 10% at the end of the period. From 1980 to 1995, there was significant growth in the figure for the castle, followed by a drop in latter years. Nonetheless, it still ranked first in many years.
