The line graph shows the consumption of fish and different kinds of meat in European between 1979 and 2004

The line graph reveals information on the consumption of Fish and three selected types of meat (Beef, Lamb, and Chicken) during the whole 25 years 1979-2004. Units are measured in grams per person per week (g.p.w).
From an overall perspective, one of the most outstanding features is that there was an upward trend in the figure given for the consumption of Chicken, whereas the corresponding figures of Beef, Lamb and Fish decreased between 1979 and 2004. By the year 1979, the figure recorded for Beef’s consumption appeared to be by far the highest one, with approximately 220 g.p.w which was followed by that of the similar level of both Lamb and Chicken, with roughly 150 g.p.w in the year 1979. Nevertheless, the lowest quantity of the consumption among the four chosen kinds of meat was found to be on Fish, with only 55 g.p.w by in 1979.
Surprisingly, the figure observed for Chicken stood at the second-highest one among the four types of meat in the year 1979, with about 150 g.p.w, then it increased dramatically throughout the whole period 1979-2004, to nearly 250 g.p.w by the year 2004 – a huge growth of almost 1.5 times. Conversely, the figure observed for Fish was consistently determined to by the lowest one throughout the whole 25 yeas 1979-2004, increasing gradually and slowly from just 55 g.p.w to well under 50 g.p.w. It is interesting to be noted that Beef’s figure decreased substantially between 1979 and 2004, to about 120 g.p.w in the year 2004, although it was observed to be the highest one in the starting year. In a similar trend, that of Lamb’s figure declined considerably from 1979 to 2004, to around 65 g.p.w.
