The plans illustrate a number of changes which took place in a beachfront area in Australia between 1950 and the present.
Overall, the beach front area has witnessed radical changes with the most noticeable being the erection of a road connecting the city and the beach. In addition, there are more recreational facilities compared to the past.
In 1950, the road linking the city with the beach headed to the car park in the north east. Along with the road, there were a playground, dining tables and a pavilion. In front of the beach, there were two 125m pools, one was next to the light house, the other was on the opposite side.
After 7 decades, the road is extended longer to the south east corner of the map. Additionally, there is an extra one car park in the west, which is a replacement of the old playground. Moreover, there are constructions of a restaurant and two surf clubs to meet the increasing demand. Besides, the old pool 25m in the west was replaced by a bigger 50m pool.
