The maps below show the changes in a town after the construction of a hydroelectric power dam.
The maps illustrate the changes of the village of Ryemouth between 1995 and present
It is clear that, the village maps have major changes with a significant surge in the number of houses, shops and the striking transformation of farmland and forest park into sports field. These remarkable developments of the village are growing in a positive way over time to meet the living needs of the people.
Looking at the 1995 map, there were a large farmland and a forest park located in the north-east of the village. However, they were demolished to give way for golf course and tennis course at the moment. In the South of the village, we can see a hotel and a cafe have stayed unchanged since 1995 and the carpark is open to the right of the hotel.
Moreover, the modification of housing is also a considerable point when talking about the Ryemouth over this period. In the North, the houses were constructed with more 4 houses than be and the road was expanded to meet the increasing demand. To the South of the village there was a fishing port but have been removed up to the present time.
