In terms of food which was the second major household spending in the two countries with Malaysia at 27% and Japan at 24% respectively. Malaysians spend half as much as the Japanese on transportation at 10% and 20% in that order.
The lowest household outlay for both countries is on healthcare needs which were recorded with Japanese families spending twice as much as the Malaysians at 6% and 3% respectively. Also, Malaysians spend 3% less than Japanese on other goods and services at 29%.
