The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
The two plans present the Southwest airport in its current stance and the renovated structure in one year time.
Overall, the area will greatly expand in space, so as in the amount of services it has to offer. Mirroring the departures zone, arrivals will obtain the café and even go a step further by adding such options as ATM and car parking.
Currently, the Southwest outpost consists of only two entranceways that separate departing passengers from those who have just arrived. Prior to entering the security passport control point, travelers are welcome to check-in at the counter or stop by the cafeteria. Both, embarking and disembarking waiting rooms are presently empty, same as the hall after the customs check. Connected by the walkway, eight ports are open for planes.
According to the proposal, only checks for documents and customs will stay the same. The most significant development will be the rising square footage allocated to plane portals, number of which will jump from eight to eighteen. Quickly carrying people from one place to another, sky train will replace the walking way. To further improve personal experience, the array of shops will be opened. Meeting visitors will be entitled to visit bistro or use cash machine; the latter can be especially useful for the car hire, which is also a part of the expanded building now. The interior of the abutting area on the left after the reshuffle will gain a backdrop stop. Lastly, extra pair of opening doors will help to deal with queues.
